ANTAR #22 Luang Prabang
The next morning, every photograph of Luang Prabang looked perfectly normal. Except... In the background of a surprising number of them, there seemed to be a familiar figure who might have been ANTAR.
ANTAR in Luang Prabang Nobody remembers inviting ANTAR to Luang Prabang. That is precisely why everyone assumed he belonged there. Some claimed he arrived by boat before sunrise. Others insisted he had simply walked out from the morning mist. One elderly gentleman confidently declared that ANTAR had been sitting under the same tree since the previous century, although no one could remember seeing him the day before. No evidence supported any version. By breakfast, ANTAR had already developed an unexplained reputation among monks, café owners, tourists, stray cats, and at least one confused pigeon. He bought nothing. He sold nothing. He explained nothing. Someone asked him why he had come to Luang Prabang. ANTAR looked toward the river for a few seconds, nodded as if agreeing with a conversation nobody else could hear, and replied, "The city seemed peaceful. I didn't want to interrupt it." Which, somehow, interrupted everyone. Visitors began wondering whether they were travelling correctly. Locals wondered whether they had missed an important meeting. Travel bloggers searched for "Hidden ANTAR Heritage Trail." No such trail existed. Children waved. Dogs approved. Even the slow-moving traffic appeared to become slightly more patient for reasons no transport expert has yet explained. By sunset, ANTAR quietly stood up, adjusted absolutely nothing, thanked nobody in particular, and disappeared into a narrow lane. The next morning, every photograph of Luang Prabang looked perfectly normal. Except... In the background of a surprising number of them, there seemed to be a familiar figure who might have been ANTAR. Or perhaps Luang Prabang had simply decided to keep one of its own mysteries. ANTAR Log #22 Location: Luang Prabang, Laos Reason for visit: Officially unknown. Evidence: Entirely circumstantial. Conclusion: ANTAR never visits a place. Somehow, the place ends up visiting ANTAR.
